Trumbull County Courthouse

Warren, Ohio    map
Status: Complete

Designed by La Belle & French and constructed in 1895, this landmark is considered one of the best examples of Ohio's celebrated county courthouses, site of offices of suffragette Susan B. Anthony and courtroom cases of attorney Clarence Darrow. Westlake Reed Leskosky restored the building, then in ruinous condition, to meet the primary goals of the county's current judicial program, rehabilitated the building for new uses, and removed incompatible and non-original mezzanines and partitions. A contiguous addition was avoided even though the program exceeded available space, and all programs determined necessary to the Courthouse were accommodated.
