The adaptive re-use and preservation of the landmark U.S. Post Office building (a National Register Landmark) integrated the building into the 6.5 million square foot Tower City complex, with space planning/interior design of the corporate offices and production facilities of MK-Ferguson Company. Prime design criteria were development of a logical circulation pattern at the first floor level; integration of the historic postal lobby with a newly created formal atrium entry; and preservation of the integrity of the historic fabric in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.
