Giese Center for the Performing Arts
Westlake Reed Leskosky programmed and designed the renovation and expansion of the existing Performing Arts facility (composed of the Rodman Theatre, Cope Music Facility, and Crandall Gallery). The new 60,000 GSF facility serves as the synergistic home of Theatre, Music, and Dance at Mount Union. A 19,000 GSF addition contains a new 450-seat proscenium theatre, black box theatre, rehearsal space, scene shops, performer support, patron support and a new lobby. 8,000 GSF of new infill construction in the existing performing arts courtyard contains a choir room, multi-functional dance and classroom space, and faculty offices.
WRL is currently undertaking a building assessment and program study to renovate the remainder of the complex not upgraded in the Phase 1 project. Phase 2 will improve Cope Hall to meet the finish and performance standards set in Phase 1 and will improve the acoustical performance of Band Room and Presser Recital Hall.
