Energy benchmarking to ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low- Rise Residential Buildings, has been common for the past decade, spurred by its inclusion in the International Energy Conservation Code and the introduction of the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED rating system.
