Among the numerous projects that Westlake Reed Leskosky has designed for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation is The Callahan Center for Radiation Oncology and Robotics, where physicians and medical support personnel work closely with scientists and engineers to explore the latest advances in computer-assisted radiation treatments for cancer and related conditions. The centerpiece of the Callahan Center is an experimental linear accelerator (pictured), which explores the introduction of robotics, automation and artificial intelligence into clinical oncology. A vault was tailored to the requirements of this highly experimental robotic linear accelerator, which is capable of rotating in eight directions simultaneously.
