A welcoming atmosphere for patients and maximum flexibility for lease space were important design criteria for this 117,000sf M.O.B. A tree-shaded atrium, highly visible day or night from the road, provides the medical campus with a new main entrance. It encloses an intimate food court with cafe style seating and provides flexible areas for a variety of hospital and public functions, for example, exhibitions on preventive health, art exhibitions, concerts or celebratory events. Natural light is controlled by fritted glass panels, which reduce sun load while allowing sufficient illumination.
